We encourage you to share the resources of your computer
to help research COVID19, as we also do within our company.
Due to the worldwide critical Corona Virus situation, we would like to encourage you to connect your computer to the scientist medical computation network, which is currently searching for the vaccine against this disease. Many of you have powerful computers.
How to do it
Really, every connected CPU and GPU matters. Our company computers are also helping right now.
Practical steps:
Download software and install it on your computer: here.
Select the option “Any disease” in the list “I support research fighting”
Start computations
How it works
Thanks to Folding @ home, a molecule simulation software that has proven itself for 20 years, you can contribute to coronavirus research, by sharing the computing power of your computer, without leaving your home!
For a few days, Folding @ home has joined global research to better understand and therefore fight against the coronavirus of 2019. Folding @ home, sometimes written with the abbreviation FaH, is a medical research project whose aim is to simulate the folding of proteins in various temperature and pressure configurations in order to better understand this process and to draw useful knowledge from it.
Why this solution
Proteins like to fold and unfold in all directions and therefore take totally different forms. This is why Folding @ home needs computing power to calculate all the forms that the viral protein can take in order to understand how it clings to the ACE2 receptor and thus put at the point the necessary medication.
